Privacy Policy
The short version: your photo never leaves your device, and we do not have accounts, so there is almost nothing here for us to collect.
Your photos
Photos you open in the editor are read directly by your browser and processed in your device's memory. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we never see, store or retain them. Closing or reloading the tab discards them.
This is a technical property of how the site is built rather than a policy promise. You can verify it: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and run a photo all the way through. No request carries your image.
Downloaded models
Face detection and background removal use machine-learning models that your browser downloads and then runs locally. Downloading a model transfers the model to you; it does not transfer anything about your photo away from you.
What we do collect
- Standard server logs from our hosting provider - IP address, timestamp, page requested, browser user agent - retained briefly for security and debugging.
- Aggregate, anonymous page-view counts, so we know which guides are worth writing. No cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers, no profile of you.
Cookies
We set no advertising or tracking cookies. Any browser storage used is limited to remembering your interface preferences on your own device.
Third parties
The site is served by a hosting provider and the donation link points to a third-party payment platform. Following that link takes you to their site, where their privacy policy applies. We never receive your payment details.
Children
The site is not directed at children, and since we collect no personal information, none is knowingly collected from them. A parent making a passport photo of their child is a normal use, and that photo is subject to the same guarantee as any other: it stays on the device.
Your rights
Rights to access, correct or delete personal data apply to data a service holds about you. We hold no photos and no accounts, so in practice there is nothing to request. For questions about the log data described above, email hello@jqlink.com.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the change will be noted on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
